Intro

My work, in both watercolor and colored pencil, exudes a spiritual quality that reflects my special connection with my subjects, things which inspire me and which I find to be beautiful. My style is abstract and fluid. I choose my color palettes to be vibrant and full of movement and life. I strive to create compositions that are innovative and intriguing.

Contact Carolyn

A native of Southern California, I studied English at Biola University and Art at Mira Costa College. I completed my masters degree in Library Science at the University of Arizona. I worked outside of the art field for a number of years and returned to my artistic interests full-time in 2004. I won a commission to paint the Stations of the Cross for St. Bede's Episcopal Church outside Portland, Oregon. Since then I have been awarded additional commissions including a watercolor of lupines and several colored pencil drawings of various fruits and vegetables.

My body of work is varied, and along with my commissioned works, I have painted a number of subjects from family pets to botanicals.

I am currently beginning work on a series of doors and windows that are from my travels to Rockport, MA, and St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, as well as from trips that friends have taken to New Orleans and Amsterdam.

I now reside in Eugene, Oregon with my husband and three cats. Along with my painting and drawing, I enjoy hiking in the Oregon forests and along the coast, as well as putting my energy into decorating my home and landscaping my yard.

I am currently a member of the Lane Arts Council Board of Directors and the Watercolor Society of Oregon.
